Online Information Literacy Modules Are Here!

The NVC Library is happy to announce the much anticipated online debut of

Module 1:  Introduction to Research & the Library Catalog

Learn how to create search strategies for a topic and to use the Library’s online catalog to find different kinds of materials.
Module 2:  Critical Thinking & Online Databases
Learn about the Library’s subscription databases and how to access and use them.

Both modules are hosted on Blackboard Vista and provide an interactive learning experience.  Students view course material, take quizzes, complete brief exercises, watch video tutorials, and participate in an interactive graded simulation.  After successfully completing a module, students can print a certificate for that module.

For more information check out the Information Literacy Modules page on the Library’s website.  You’ll find registration instructions (including a video tutorial) as well as descriptions of each module there.

Face to face sessions of both modules are still conducted regularly each month in the Library.  The monthly schedule is available on the Information Literacy Modules page
